Before being transformed into a ski resort in 1978, Telluride, Colorado was known as a mining town. In past years, Patrick McGean met many old-time miners from that region who lived healthy lives. The town of Telluride was named after the rare trace mineral, tellurium, which is known to have beneficial health properties like sulfur and selenium.<\/p>\n
