Shoebat insists that if America is to win the war on terror, it must cease waging war on a tactic that its enemies use and more plainly identify the enemy using them.<\/p>\n
He points to an interesting contrast between a group with alleged ties to the enemies of the United States and how American citizens are sometimes treated. “Here you have a group sympathetic to the likes of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Abu Musab al-Zarqawi holding a conference at a hotel in Chicago, yet local authorities all across this country have been issued a DHS report warning them of right-wing extremists. This is what happens when political correctness trumps truth. You have absurd realities like this rearing its head.”<\/p>\n
Shoebat is very familiar with Chicago, having spent time there training with other Muslims before converting to Christianity in 1993.<\/p>\n
Born in Bethlehem, Walid’s grandfather was the Muslim Mukhtar (chieftain) of Beit Sahour-Bethlehem (The Shepherd’s Fields) and a friend of Haj-Ameen Al-Husseni, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and notorious friend of Adolf Hitler.<\/p>\n
As a young man, Shoebat became a member of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. He participated in acts of terror and violence against Israel for which he was imprisoned in the Russian Compound in Jerusalem.<\/p>\n
After his release, he continued his life of violence and rioting in Bethlehem and the Temple Mount. After entering the U.S, he worked as a counselor for the Arab Student Organization at Loop College in Chicago and continued his anti-Israel activities.<\/p>\n
In 1993, Walid studied the Bible in a challenge to convert his wife to Islam. Six months later, after intense study, Walid realized that everything he had been taught about Jews was a lie. Convinced he was on the side of evil, he became an advocate for his former enemy.<\/p>\n
Driven by a deep passion to heal his own soul and disclose the truth about Israel and the Jews, Walid shed his former life and work as a software engineer. He has relentlessly set out to expose the evils of Islamic fundamentalism to people throughout the world, communicating his message to churches, synagogues, civic groups, and the media.<\/p>\n
