Mario Lopez tells how political conservatism supports the Hispanic community

Mario Lopez, founder of the Hispanic Leadership Fund, describes his success in helping the Hispanic community by supporting conservative policies and candidates.

For more than 20 years, Mario Lopez has worked for and supported conservative candidates, causes, elected officials, and organizations.

His political experience started in high school when he founded a chapter of Young Americans for Freedom and began volunteering for several state and local campaigns. He was introduced to the political scene in Washington D.C. when he was enrolled in the Political Journalism program at The Fund for American Studies Institute.

Under his direction as Executive Director of the Congressional Hispanic Conference, caucus membership nearly doubled. As Executive Director, Mario focused his efforts on enhancing Hispanic prosperity by promoting conservative legislation in the areas of health care, tax reform, and small business.

Mario has served as a liaison to the White House, the private sector, and non-profit advocacy communities. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Republican National Hispanic Assembly and on the Board of Governors of the Edmund Burke Institute for American Renewal. He previously served on the Hispanic Advisory Board for the Republican Naitonal Committee under former Chairman Ken Mehlman. Recently, Mario participated as a guest lecturer at the Campaign Manager School run by the Morton Blackwell Leadership Institute.
