IMAGINE THE COST OF REPLACING ALL YOUR HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES! Moreover, Smart Meters will make it possible for utility companies to shut off your electricity remotely.

Alan Stone, chair of the firm’s energy law group, successfully convinced the Maine Public Utilities Commission (MPUC) to find that it was an unjust and unreasonable practice for Central Maine Power Company (CMP) to refuse to permit residential and small commercial customers to opt-out of CMP’s smart meter program.

Capitola, CA – Last Wednesday, more than a dozen Santa Cruz County residents – including mothers and grandmothers – assembled outside Pacific Gas and Electric’s Capitola Payment Center with their unwanted wireless electric meters in hand, and spoke about what prompted them to defy their utility and replace the ‘smart’ meter on their homes with widely available analog meters. Late last week, PG&E sent letters threatening to disconnect power to those who returned their ‘smart’ meters on Wednesday, including a family of four with headaches and a single woman in her seventies.

Could you post that Devvy Kidd is about to go to Austin to present a case to the TX Public Util. Commiss. This hearing will address health issues related to the meter.
She is inviting others to sign up as plaintiffs, and for any donations (for her attorney) that can comfortably be made. Plaintiffs are not required to attend the hearing, but can speak if they wish.
I just read that it all begins 2/23, so there are only a few days left to take action and show your support.
Esp. if you’re in TX, this is a way you can let your voice be heard about this meter. This is so very, very important, and the util cos and Oncor sure don’t give a durn. Because TX is so large, it normally sets trends for other states. Even if you don’t live in TX, your support will help all anti-meter efforts across the country.
