Andy Cheshier: Natural gas firms can use eminent domain to build pipelines on your land

Listen to Andy Cheshier: Living where there’s natural gas drilling is a nightmare. The air and water are polluted and noise pollution continues unabated 24/7. Moreover, laws are written in favor of the energy firms that are doing the drilling.

If you are a United States citizen, did you know that:
• If an energy company owns the mineral rights to the natural gas on your property, that firm (foreign or domestic) has the legal right to use eminent domain to build its pipeline on your land so it can extract the gas?
• If you sign a contract that allows a energy firm to drill on your property, once drilling is completed, the now contaminated property reverts back to you as the owner and you have the responsibility for its environmental cleanup?

Andy Cheshier is an activist who has been sounding the alarm about fracking for natural gas for 7 years. He is a strong advocate of clean and renewable sources of energy such as solar and wind. Listeners and readers are encouraged to contact Andy via his Facebook page (search for Andy Cheshier).
